Music was from recordings I made of orchestral percussion stuff and a "prepared piano" there are some samples I pinched from a Stravinsky CD in there too. I made a kind of probability table of how the instruments get triggered. i.e how many of each sound adn what notes were available to the maths that trigger the video clip. Quite some time was spent balancing the load to get the right atmosphere. The video was pumped out the DVI of my laptop and captured on another PC with an HDMI capture card, while the audio was created and recorded on a third box.
But what the hell is it about? Well it is supposed to be both serious and humorous. On one side its just a daft trick you can laugh and grunt at, on the other its an obsessional look at a fear of endlessness. The piece when run live has no beginning or end. When I am watching it I am seeing it do stuff I have never seen it do before. Curiosity made me do it!
